How to Enable Google Maps’ Speed Limit Warning

Google Maps, being one of the most popular programmes, includes various features that help users have a pleasant travel. Street view, toll estimations, estimated time of arrival (ETA), and other features are available. The Google app may also give speed restriction warning warnings to users if they are likely to violate the speed limit on a certain route. Users may then check their speed and change it as needed.

Here are the procedures to activate these speed limit warnings on your smartphone.

Google Maps

• Launch the Google Maps app on your smartphone

• Enable the speed limit alert

 • Click the profile symbol in the upper right corner.

 • Scroll down and choose Navigation Settings

• Turn on the speed limit toggle

• Turn on the speedometer toggle

And you’re ready to go. If you exceed a specific speed limit, the app will quickly send you an alarm. This functionality is now available to Indian users as well.

Furthermore, Google has collaborated with Bengaluru traffic police to assist them optimise their traffic signal timings, with promising preliminary results. It employs current traffic patterns and machine learning to assist cities in better optimising traffic signal timings, so “assisting them in reducing wait time at junctions, road congestion, and carbon emissions as well.”

According to the business, “the trial resulted in nearly a 20% reduction in congestion across all junctions.” In the coming months, Google intends to expand this relationship to Kolkata and Hyderabad as well.
