How to use Street View in Google Maps on iPhone, Android phone

Google announced today that Street View would be included to the Google Maps app in India. It has teamed with Tech Mahindra and Genesys International to gather and licence geospatial data, which will subsequently be used to provide Street View imagery to Google users in India.

Street View will be accessible on Google Maps for Android and iOS, with new imagery licenced from local partners covering over 150,000 km across ten cities in India, according to the firm. Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Nashik, Vadodara, Ahmednagar, and Amritsar are among them. Google also stated that it plans to add this functionality to 50 more Indian cities by the end of 2022. Furthermore, Google stated that it will make Street View APIs available to local developers in order for them to create features and experiences based on Street View photos.

How to Use Google Maps Street View on an iPhone

Step 1: Launch Google Maps on your iPhone.

Step 2: Look for a location or touch and hold a location on the map.

Step 3: Tap the thumbnail for Street View.

Step 5: Swipe left or right to shift the view. You may also swipe left or right. You may change your point of view on the map by tapping the arrows on the street.

Step 6: When you finished, tap Back.

How to Use Google Maps’ Street View Layer on iPhone

Step 1: Launch the Google Maps app on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2: At the top, select Layers Layers, followed by Street View.

Step 3: On the map, blue lines indicate Street View coverage. Enter Street View by tapping on any blue line.

How to Use Street View in Google Maps on Android

Step 1: Launch the Google Maps app on your Android phone or tablet.

Step 2: Look for a location or place a pin on the map.

Step 3: Touch and hold a location on the map to drop a pin.

Step 4: At the bottom, tap the name or address of the location.

Step 5: Scroll down and choose the “Street View” photo or the thumbnail with a Street View indicator 360 photo.

Step 6: When you finished, hit Back in the upper left.
