Cameras of Huawei Mate

Huawei replaced the periscope camera on the Mate 50 RS Porsche Design with a 48-megapixel, 35x telephoto macro camera that is OIS-ready. Both smartphones provide up to 200x super zoom, f/1.4 to f/4.0 variable aperture, a flicker sensor, and laser autofocus. Huawei’s XMAGE image processing technology is present in both phones, which improves their photo-taking capabilities.

Specifications of Huawei Mate

The Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS Porsche Design both have the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 4G chipset inside. The RS Porsche Design provides 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, compared to the Pro model’s 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB/512 GB UFS 3.1 storage. Both devices allow up to a 256 GB NM memory card for additional storage. Harmony OS 3.0 is preinstalled on both devices.

Each smartphone has a 4,700mAh battery and supports reverse wireless charging, 50W wireless charging, and 66W rapid charging. Both smartphones have dual SIM, satellite communication, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, and a USB-C connection for connectivity.

Design and Display of Huawei Mate

The triple camera configuration, LED flash, and other sensors are housed in a circular module on the back panel of the Pro version. The front looks of the Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS Porsche Design are remarkably similar. The front displays of both phones have a notch design. The Mate 50 RS Porsche Design, on the other hand, has a supercar-inspired octagon-shaped module slapped on a ceramic rear.

The 6.74-inch OLED screen on the Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS Porsche Design offers a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, touch sampling rates of up to 300 Hz, and high-frequency PWM dimming at a frequency of 1440 Hz. It has an FHD+ resolution of 2612 x 1212 pixels. The sophisticated sensors for 3D facial recognition are housed in the display notch. Also included in these phones is an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Pricing and availability of Huawei Mate

There are two different memory and storage combinations available for the Huawei Mate 50 Pro: 8 GB RAM + 256 GB and 8 GB RAM + 512 GB. Priced at 6,799 Yuan ($977) and 7,799 Yuan ($1,121), respectively, for these variations. Priced at 6,999 Yuan ($1,006) and 7,999 Yuan ($1,149), respectively, are the Kunlun editions.It is available in hues including Daybreak Kunlun, Frost Silver, Streamer Purple, Obsidian Black, and Kunlun Xiaguang.

There is only one 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage option available for the Mate 50 RS Porsche Design model. It is expensive, coming in at 12,999 Yuan ($1,868). It comes in shades like Carmine Porcelain and Dark Blue Porcelain. Sept. 21 will see its release date, while the Mate 50 Pro will go on sale in China by Sept. 28. The home market is currently accepting pre-orders for both smartphones. The Mate 50 series’ international launch is unknown.
