“Who Are You”is the follow-up
BamBam of GOT7 has released his new track “Who Are You”, a collaboration with Seulgi of Red Velvet.
Intercut with isolated shots of the two K-pop idols resting next to mirrors, the intriguing music video sees the BamBam and Seulgi doing a complex dance routine in what appears to be a decaying throne room while clad in all black.
Scenes of BamBam exploring a maze of mirrors in a far-off forest are also included in the video. On the chorus, they sing, “I keep wandering and wanting you / I can’t even escape / Who are you? / You’re like a maze / But I like you, like to discover you / I realise someone else in mind.”
BamBam’s debut mini-album, ‘riBBon,’ was released in June, and ‘Who Are You’ is the follow-up. Following his departure from longtime agency JYP Entertainment in January, he released his first single under new label Abyss Company.
During a press conference for ‘riBBon,’ BamBam expressed his concerns about making his solo debut. “Because this is my first solo trip to Korea, I wanted to show that ‘this is BamBam,'” he explained. “Rather than being concerned about the concept, I was more concerned about my abilities.”
BamBam previously stated in an interview with Allure Korea that he is currently focusing on solo efforts in South Korea. Before growing internationally, the singer stated that he wants to be “fully recognised” in East Asia.
The singer also discussed the disparity in response in his home country of Thailand and Korea. He commented, “I can stroll around [in Korea] with ease,” before adding, “I can’t do anything in Thailand.” “Don’t even leave the hotel.”
