Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi CIVI series of female-focused smartphones in 2021, with the latest entrant, the CIVI 1S, launched in April as an upgrade over the original model, carrying an improved chip and a new colour option. According to a report, the tech behemoth is now working on the next-generation Xiaomi CIVI 2, which has also received CMIIT certification today, implying that it will be released soon. Xiaomi CIVI 2 has received CMIIT certification
The Xiaomi CIVI 2 on the website of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT). The model number 2209129SC has been assigned to the smartphone on the site.
The listing also reveals some obvious details about the smartphone, such as its support for 5G connectivity and dual SIM card support. The device will, of course, run Android OS, most likely Android 12 with the MIUI skin on top.
According to rumours, the upcoming Xiaomi CIVI 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. The CIVI 1 had a Snapdragon 778G SoC, while the CIVI 1S had a Snapdragon 778G+ chip.

Furthermore, the CIVI 2 is said to have a 120Hz OLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and Dolby Vision. It will most likely have a curved AMOLED panel, similar to the existing CIVI models. For added security, the OLED panel could include a fingerprint scanner.
The device’s camera specifications are unknown, but it will most likely come with a solid camera setup. The CIVI 1S has a triple rear camera setup that includes an OIS-enabled 64MP primary shooter, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide unit, and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front, it has a 32MP Sony IMX616 camera with autofocus and dual soft light.
